At Earth junkies our mission is to protect wildlife and preserve natural habitats through our committed efforts. We aim to inspire and engage the public in the conservation of our precious wildlife resources.
Birds and other wildlife often get tangled and even perish in fishing line and lures that hang from the mangroves. We are dedicated to search out and “gently” remove this hazard from coastal regions of Southwest Florida giving the wildlife the freedom to land and roost in a safe environment.
Another hazard is crab trap ropes that make their way to the shorelines. These ropes can impede the path that sea turtles make to lay their eggs. There are several wonderful organizations that come to the aid of an entrapped sea turtle, but no one is actively getting rid of the hazard. We will. We actively search the beaches and shorelines for ropes, fishing line and anything manmade that will snare or entangle sea turtles and wildlife.
We remove hazards from the mangroves and beaches that can entangle our cherished shore birds and sea turtles..
